EAE (LINC) Design, Development and Support
Offshore Support of Legacy EAE (LINC) Applications
Since 1997 BTG ihas been using a high speed communications channel from the BTG facility in Riga into the Unisys worldwide network to enable remote support of several key internal Unisys IT applications by BTG staff (UFSS, SRMS, DREAMS, GLOBILL, CALCS, TRIPS, EXPO). This has resulted in significant cost savings to Unisys, allowed full time IT staff to work on important new design and development projects, and has provided additional options for continued support of Unisys legacy systems. We started with a high-speed leased line and since 2000 BTG has been using Internet VPNs, a cost effective method for providing secure and efficient transmission of data with the client site.
AB Suite & EAE (LINC) Product Testing
BTG was a Unisys field test site for the first releases of AB Suite and EAE (LINC) on Windows and UNIX (SUN) platforms. We also successfully migrated our LINC based retail banking application software from A series to UNIX and to Windows platforms.
BTG staff provided contract services to the Unisys software-testing group in Roseville, Minnesota, which was responsible for testing of the first release of EAE (LINC) on Windows. In addition to developing test plans and test scripts, BTG's banking software code was used to help test this new EAE (LINC) software release.
A BTG testing team assisted Unisys' ACUS (Australia Center for Unisys Software) group, which is responsible for development and support of Unisys LINC products. The Riga team was responsible for running tests, modifying test scripts (Winrunner), analyzing results, and reporting problems. They also completed Year 2000 testing of LDA versions 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4 on schedule and enhanced the automated test bed environment for the Windows NT platform, including modification and adaptation of UNIX test scripts and development of new tests using Winrunner. The duration of this project was 3 years.
